Two Die in Death Pact
Mrs. Sophie Abru, a married woman, and Albert E. Voland, a deserter from the United States navy, died in a death pact on the Kawana Springs property, south of Santa Rosa, on July 13th. The bodies were found in loving embrace near the springs Monday. Letters found on the bodies threw light on the tragedy. The man evidently shot the woman and afterwards committed suicide.

In accordance with the expressed wish of the couple, both of them were buried in the same grave in the Rural cemetery on Monday afternoon.
