GALESBURG - Anne B. Byram, 88, of Manitowish Waters, Wis., formerly of 51 N. Soangetaha Road, died at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, in a private home in Manitowish Waters. Services will be at noon Saturday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery.
Mrs. Anne B. Byram, 88, Manitowish Waters, WI, formerly of 51 N. Soangetaha Road, Galesburg, IL, died at 9:15 PM Wednesday, April 5, 2006 in a private home in Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin. She was born September 27, 1917 in Galesburg, the daughter of Curtis H. and Theodosia Golliday Brown. She married William Main Byram on January 9, 1939 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1992. She is survived by a son, William Curtis (and Joan) Byram, Manitowish Waters, WI, 3 daughters, Patience B. (and Charles) Rockey, Bryn Mawr, PA, Caroline (and Coltan) Csavas, Stevensville, Michigan, and Claudia (and John) McNamara, Mt. Holly, NJ, and 9 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Peter Brown. She was a teacher in Galva, IL for several years. She then was a counselor at Galesburg High School for 14 years. She retired in 1975. She had lived in Abingdon, IL for 30 years and in Galesburg for 50 years.She graduated from Galesburg High School. She attended Knox College, received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan, and her Master's degree from Western Illinois University.She was a member of the Mosaic Club, PEO Chapter AN, Retired Teacher's Association, Knox/Lombard 50 Year Club, Soangetaha Country Club, and the Pi Beta Phi Alumni Club. Funeral will be Noon Saturday in Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. The Rev. David B. Parker will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Abingdon Cemetery. Memorials can be made to Knox College, 2 East South St., Galesburg, IL 61401.
