Mary was the wife of Titanic survivor David Vartanian. Mary was also a survivor herself, of the Armenian Genocide of 1915 just a few years after her husband's immigration. He looked for her for years, and finally in 1923, received a letter from Armenia stating Mary was alive and well. In 1924 she landed in Canada and finally reunited with her husband at Niagara Falls.
