Death of Julian C. Huntington
Died-In Ashtabula, September 23d, 1885, Julian C. Huntington, in the 90th year of his age.
Deceased was born in Norwich, Conn., March 29, 1796, and in 1807 came to Painesville with his father, who purchased what was then known as Walworth Farm embracing the two farms afterwards occupied by deceased and his brother, Colbert. At the age of 16 he enlisted in the Connecticut Militia and after his discharge from the service returned to Painesville where he continued to reside till about twelve years ago, when on the death of his second wife, he went to Ashtabula, where he has since resided with his daughter, Mrs. Lucy Tombes. Mr. Huntington, though of a quiet and retiring disposition, was well known and highly esteemed in this community and it was always a pleasure to converse with him and listen to his recital of the incidents of pioneer life. The body was brought to Painesville and deposited in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery.
