CARLISLE TRUCK DRIVER KILLED IN SHORE CRASH

Henson Ward Baker 35, Dies in Hbg. Hospital Today

Henson Ward Baker, 35, of 115 South Bedford Street, died today in Harrisburg Hospital of injuries he incurred In a truck-auto crash in Camp Hill at 2:30 this morning.

Three other persons were injured. Eleanor R. Cramer, 48 East Louther Street, was listed as in a critical condition; Lee Deitch, 29, Carlisle, R. D. 3, driver of the car, and a fourth person, Marian Hall, 27, 133 North East Street, suffered less serious injuries.

Camp Hill Policeman Bernard W. Ross said Deitch's car was traveling near 32d and Market streets in Camp Hill when it rammed the rear of a truck either parked or traveling slowly. Baker, an occupant of the car, was thrown from the automobile. Witnesses said the truck driver left the scene without identifying himself. Both Miss Cramer and Miss Hall were passengers in the Deitch car. Baker died at 8:20 a. m.

Baker, who was a truck driver for Paul W. Snyder, Carlisle, was a veteran of World War II, having served overseas six months. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Theresa Morrison Baker; two sons, Donald Lee and Barry Allen, at home; his parents, .Mr. and Mrs. Jacob B. Baker, Carlisle; four brothers, Jacob H. and Austin F. Baker, both of Carlisle; Eugene E. Baker, New Market, Va., and Benjamin K. Baker, Carlisle; a sister, Mrs. Gloria J. Patsy, Pittsburgh.

Services will he held at 2 p. m. Tuesday in the Lutz Funeral Home. Friends may call Monday night at the funeral home.

Second Death Follows Crash

HARRISBURG, Jan. 30. - Miss Eleanor Cramer, 18, Carlisle, died yesterday, the second victim of a motor vehicle crash at 32nd and Market streets, Camp Hill, Saturday. W. (sic) Ward Baker, 36, Carlisle, died shortly after the accident, in which a tractor-trailer and Baker's car were involved. The truck left the scene and is the subject of a police search.

Services for Henson Ward Baker, 115 South Bedford Street, who was fatally injured on Saturday morning in an automobile accident at Camp Hill, were held Tuesday afternoon in the Lutz Funeral Home. Rev. Joseph H. Miller officiated. Burial was in Plainfield Bethel Cemetery. The pallbearers were Clarence Morrison, Kenneth Piper, Charles Albright, Joseph Lehman, Elwood Fry and George Price.
