C, 130th Pennsylvania Infantry, a regiment that saw heavy action as Antietam, Fredericksburg, and Chancellorsville. He was honorably discharged with his company on May 21, 1863.
He married Mary Mazie Taylor April 11, 1866, in Philadelphia and fathered Lavenia (b. 07/21/68) and John Alfred (b. 04/08/76). Death was due to typhoid fever.
