Hall of Fame Motorcyclist. He began racing motorcycles at an early age in Georgia. A reporter overheard a friend refer to him as a "pig farmer." The phrase stuck and he soon became known as "The Flying Pig Farmer," a nickname he disliked, but that actually brought him more notoriety as he raced in Europe. He was a two-time winner of the "Daytona 200" (1979 and 1981). He also won the 1981 AMA road race championship. Cause of death: private plane crash
