Louise was born in Boonville on February 21, 1927 a daughter of Victor and Pauline Brockman Brueckner. She graduated from Laura Speed Elliott High School and was employed as a secretary at the Boonville Correctional Center for over twenty years. After retirement she volunteered at the Correctional Center as a foster grandparent. She was also a clerk at Reichel Antiques and Auction Service in Boonville. Mrs. Martin was a member of the Boonville Evangelical United Church of Christ. Her favorite hobbies included bowling and bingo and her family remembers her as generous with a "heart of gold." Survivors include two sons, James Martin and wife, Charlotte of Columbia and Sammie Martin and wife, Louise of Franklin; a brother, Robert Brueckner of Boonville; three sisters, Thelma Gerke of Boonville, Emmarie Kempf of Pilot Grove, Lola Calvin of Columbia; seven grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchlidren. Her parents, two grandsons and a sister preceded her in death. Services celebrating and honoring her life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Boonville Evangelical United Church of Christ with Rev. Judy Fiocco officiating. Burial will be at Boonesboro Cemetery.
