Mrs. Ellen Blackney
Death took Mrs. Ellen Blackney last Tuesday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Keast. The deceased had arrived at the advanced age of close to 87 years. She has made her home with Mrs. Keast for the past 23 years. The deceased was born in England where she married, later coming to America and to Iron Mountain where the family resided until Mrs. Keast moved to Crystal Falls when her mother came here with her.
The funeral took place from the M. E. Church yesterday afternoon. Rev. Blackford officiating and the remains being interred in the Crystal Falls cemetery.
There were present at the the funeral from out of town a son, Mr. C. E. Stevens and wife of Stambaugh; another son, Tom Blackney of Iron Mountain; a niece, Miss Alice Henwood of Ishpeming; a sister, Mrs. Jane Smith of Duluth; a nephew Mr. Alfred Drew and his wife of Iron Mountain; four grandchildren, Ellen Charles and Vincent Stevens of Stambaugh and Thomas Blackney, Jr. of Iron Mountain and Mr. Albert Robbins of Iron Mountain.
