She was born February 12, 1917, in Center Township, Greene County, a daughter of Thomas Ellsworth and Addie Wade McNeely, and resided in Rogersville for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Knight was a member of Rogersville Christian Church, where she served as pianist and organist for several years. She enjoyed playing piano for many different organizations in Greene County.
She was a 1934 graduate of Center High School in Rogersville and a graduate of Griffith Beauty School in Pittsburgh. In 1950, she received her manager's license from Irene Patrine Beauty School in Washington, and was a practicing beautician for several years.
She was a member of American Cancer Society, James Farrell American Legion Post 330 Auxiliary and Waynesburg and West Greene senior citizens. For about six years, she was a member of the Hillbilly Band of Greene County.
In 1942, she married Victor Braddock Throckmorton, who died in 1968.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public visitation. A public memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 8, in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, with the Rev. Jack Fowler officiating.
