The Winter Family plot was purchased in 1889, and a large "missile stone" obelisk was erected, with each of the three Winter Brothers names engraved on the base. Ironically, none of the three...Wolfgang, Alois, or Michael, ended up being buried here. They were the founders and owners of The M. Winter Brothers Brewing Company on the Pittsburgh Southside from 1883-1899; one of the largest breweries at that time.
