When Sarah Caroline "Carrie" Ford was born on January 26, 1886, in Hoax Whipp, Etowah, Alabama, her father, John Alexander Ford, was 29, and her mother, Charlsey Joseph Keller, was 26. She married James Robert "Jim" Spain on July 7, 1902, in Ellis County, Texas. They had: Ted Barnett "Jack"; Maude Vera "Sister"; Norman; Thelma "Peggy"; Barton Dean "Brother"; Dee Garner; and his twin and mother of my husband, Dorothy Gladys; Royce Charles and twin Lois Elizabeth and Imo Jeane. Her husband Jim passed away on May 18, 1938, in Waxahachie, Ellis, Texas, at the age of 57. They had been married 35 years. After he died, she stayed extended times in several of her children's homes. She was living in the Autumn Leaf Lodge in Haltom City, Tarrant, Texas when she died. She died on April 16, 1968, in Fort Worth, Tarrant, Texas, at the age of 82, and was buried in Midlothian, Ellis, Texas at Mountain Peak Cemetery Row B-5 by her husband, most of her kids and many other family members. She was the grandmother of my husband, James Edwin Parr.
