Phyllis was born Aug. 4, 1931, at Cumberland, daughter of Ben and Sylvia (Shortner) Hagen. She died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003, at the Barron Medical Center, Barron, WI, aged 72 years, 4 months and 21 days and was buried in the St. Anthony Cemetery, Cumberland, WI.

On May 12, 1956 she was united in marriage to Arthur Schulte at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Cumberland, WI. They lived and farmed in Stanford Township, Barron County, in partnership with Larry Schulte for 25 years before retiring.

Phyllis enjoyed cooking, taking long walks and watching movies, and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Sharon (Ken) Lehner of Maplewood, Minn., Barbara (Barry) Rowe of Oswego, Ill., and JoAnn Asplund of North St. Paul, Minn.; and grandchildren, Sarina, Adam, Alyssa, Kristopher, Angie, Emily, Lauren and Allison.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Skinner Funeral Home, Cumberland. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Barron with Rev. Gerard Willger officiating. The pallbearers were Ken Lehner, David Jacobs, Barry Rowe, Adam Rowe, Kris Asplund and David Rowe.
