She was born Jan. 8, 1929, in Kanawha City, a daughter of the late Thomas H. and Minnie Ransom Newhouse. She attended Sugar Creek Missionary Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
She is survived by two sons and their wives, Thomas and Judy Skeen of Clover, S.C., and Fred and Kelly Skeen of Clendenin; special children, Kasey Compton of Sissonville, and Kim Short of Cross Lanes; four sisters, Ruth Burdette and Elizabeth Shivley of Sissonville, Emeline Argobrite of Summersville, and Vernese Burdette of Charleston; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, Sissonville, with the Rev Marvin Welch, the Rev Benny Bess, and the Rev Frank Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the Goshen Cemetery, Kentuck.
