Carl A. Brand, age 86, Fort Morgan, CO, formerly of Oxford, died Saturday, Jan. 27, 1990, in Fort Morgan.
He was born Sept. 16, 1903 at Bath, Ill, to Herman Fredrick Brand and Anna (Kolves) Brand.
Mr. Brand graduated from Beaver City High School in Beaver City, NE in 1921. On May 26, 1927, he married Ruby Marie Wright at Norton, KS.
They farmed southwest of Beaver City untill 1943 when they moved to Oxford.
The couple retired from farming in the late 1970's and in 1987 they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Ruby died January 31, 1988.
Mr. Brand was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, NE.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. John (Erma Jean) Alles of Winterset, Iowa; and Mrs Loyd (Marilyn) Simpson of Fort Morgan. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 1:30 at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford, with the Rev. William Little officiating.
Internment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery at Beaver City.
Wenburg Funeral Homes of Beaver City was in charge of arrangements.
