Cleo "Gene" Lamb
Services for Cleo "Gene" Lamb, 72, of Melcher-Dallas, who died November 9 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held November 12, 1994, at New Hope Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas. Burial was at Dallas Cemetery.
Reverend Lynn Elrod officiated at the services. Music was provided by Mrs. Delores Milburn and Mrs. Madonna Milburn. Pallbearers were Lyle Goff, Brian Goff, Kevin Goff, Marvin Bingham, Brad Bingham and Aaron Bingham.
Cleo was born September 19, 1922 at Carlisle, the son of Cleophas W. and Lela Myrtle Welch Lamb. He lived most of his life in the Melcher-Dallas area. He worked at the V.A. Hospital in Knoxville for 36 years, until his retirement. He was also a water superintendent in Melcher-Dallas since 1975. He was a veteran of World War II, and a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. He was also a city clerk and a councilman for Dallas.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Milburn Lamb of Melcher-Dallas; a son, Kevin Gene Lamb of Melcher-Dallas; three daughters, Linda Goff of Morris, Ill., Fonda Bingham of Ankeny, and LuAnn Schrader of Melcher-Dallas; two brothers, Robert Lamb of Pleasantville, and Raymond Lamb of Issaquah, Wash.; two sisters, Marjorie Rowland of Melcher-Dallas, and Garnet Thornburg of San Diego, Calif.; and eight grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Mosher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas.
