Walter Elder, 87, of Breckenridge died after a lengthy illness.
He married Lola Bates on 23 May 1931 at Cisco. A lifetime resident of Stephens County, he was a self-employed retailer before his retirement.
Survivors: his wife; two daughters - Ruth Maxwell of Breckenridge and Laverne Mason of Godfrey, IL; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
