From the Lansing Stat Journal Obituary dated 17 March 2004: Villarreal, Santiago DeWitt, MI Went home to be with Jesus on March 14, 2004 at the age of 92. Born September 25, 1911 in New Braunfels, TX. Mr. Villarreal retired in 1972 as a Shaving Wheeler for Motor Wheel after 27 years of faithful service. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in the Normandy and Battle of the Bulge, receiving 5 Bronze Stars. He enjoyed the Tigers and Lansing Lugnuts Baseball. A loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle, by providing for his extended family since his Dad's death when he was 12. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita (Villarreal) on November 6, 1998, daughter, Virginia Swift in 1998, 2 sisters and 1 brother. Surviving are 2 sons, James (Sharon) of DeWitt and Roberto "Bob" (Teresa) of Lansing; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; sister, Juanita Quintela of Elsie and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 18, 2 PM at the Gorsline-Runciman Co. Lansing Chapel, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing with the Rev. Dr. William W. Barber, Pastor of Grace Bible Church of Lansing, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Wednesday from 4-8 PM.
