MARY KALK

Mrs. Mary Kalk, 94, formerly of Howards Grove, died Saturday evening at the Sheboygan Retirement Home, where she had been a resident for the past 3 ½ years.
She was born on a farm in the Town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late Philip and Theresa Hickmann on May 12, 1879. On Jan. 17, 1903, she was married to John Kalk. The couple operated the Siemers Cheese Factory on Highway 42 for 45 years, until they retired in 1946. Mr. Kalk died in June 1950. Mrs. Kalk then resided with her son, Roman, at Howards Grove. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Howards Grove, and an honorary Charter member of the church's Ladies Aid Society.
Surviving are four sons, Julius and Roman, Howards Grove, Elmer of Plymouth, and Melvin of Sheboygan Falls; and one daughter, Mrs. Harold (Norma) Boeldt of Rhine Center; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Eleanor Kalk of Fontanta, Calif. She was preceded in death by one son and four brothers.
Funeral services will be at Trinity Church, Howards Grove, with the Rev. William Lewis, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
