Jonathan Crane & Bethiah Baldwin of South East. Esther was g. dau. of Capt. Joseph Crane of the American Revolution & in the Provincial Service before that war. She was gr. granddau. of Joseph Crane the first of this family to appear in South East. She was gr. gr. granddau. of Lieut. Jonathan Crane, commissioned as such in 1703 & was Deputy to the General Court of Connecticut from Windham for some 14 years beginning in 1701. Esther Crane was grt. grt. grt. granddau. of Benjamin Crane of Wethersfield, Conn. 1655. (v. Crane Genealogy). Platt Vail Brush was a respected farmer of South East. Martha Ann; b. 1 Dec. 1834; d. 4 Sept. 1835, an infant. 3. Sarah Elizabeth; b. 11 Oct. 1836, at South East. 4. Francis Albert; b. 5 April 1838, South East; removed to Osage, Iowa. 5. Jesse Platt; b. 13 March 1840, Ridgefield, Conn. He lived at Brewster Station. 6.
