Graettinger – Services for Aadne Ness, 88, will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Wallingford Lutheran Church with Pastor Virgil Anderson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. He died Tues., Aug. 22, 1989 at Good Samaritan Center.
Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger from 4-9 p.m. Thursday.
He was born July 6, 1901 at Stavanger, Norway, the son of Iver and Gunhild (Stokka) Ness and came to the U.S. in 1907 with his family and lived in the Story City area until 1910 when they moved to DePew. He attended rural schools. The family moved to 12 Mile Lake area in 1916 where he farmed till 1979 when they moved into Graettinger. On June 4, 1937 he was united in marriage with Edith Hutchinson at Estherville. He entered the Good Samaritan Center in 1987. He was a member of Wallingford Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife Edna, Graettinger; one son Robert, Estherville; three daughters: Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Phillips, Desoto; Mrs. Richard (Marjorie) Tindall, Graettinger and Mrs. Roger (Joyce) Schoulte, Farmersburg; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one brother, Leonard Ness, Estherville.
