OBITUARY - NW Arkansas Times - MAY 1 2000 - Bentonville - Harold Banks, 83, of Bentonville died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at Bates Medical Center. Born March 3, 1917 in Southwest City, Mo., he was the son of Franklin Homer Banks and Nancy Elizabeth Burnett Banks. He lived in Southwest City, Mo., in his early years and then moved to Hiwasse with his family where he grew up and attended school. He served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corps and operated Banks Feed Store and later a grocery store. He also opened Banks Rambler Sales with his brother and eventually Banks Ford Sales. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Banks of the home; two sons, Bryan H. Banks and Randy C. Banks, both of Bentonville; and two grandchildren. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Backstrom-Pyeatte-Chapel with Rev. Phillip Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Bentonville City Cemetery. All arrangements are under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville.
