Jeremy Osborne, tanner, of Ashford, Kent, died testate with a will dated Sept. 3, 1620, which was proved Apr. 12, 1621. Baptized on Feb. 4, 1570/71, he married his first wife Joan Wyborne at Ashford on Jan. 17, 1592/93, but the wife mentioned in his will was named Constance.

In his article "Ancestry of Thomas Osborne of New Haven, Conn., and East Hampton, Long Island," Donald Lines Jacobus identifies Jeremy Osborne of Ashford, Kent, as the father of Thomas Osborn, the tanner who settled in New Haven by 1643 and who removed to East Hampton by 1651. This article can be read in The American Genealogist, vol. 12 (1935-36), pp. 248-255.

Jeremy Osborne was the grandfather of Thomas Osborn (1622-1712) and Benjamin Osborn (1646-1722), both of East Hampton, Long Island.
