Rose Harris (Mrs Solon W) Smith, 83, of 1703 Dorchester Drive, died Saturday. Services 10 am Tuesday at Hahn-Cook, Street & Draper Chapel with interment at Rose Hill Mausoleum.

She was born at Amherst, NE, and lived most of her adult life with Judge and Mrs Samuel H Harris of Oklahoma City until her marriage. She was a graduate of Central High School of Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma University where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She was active in social and civic affairs, member of the Oklahoma City Republican Club, Nichols Republican Club, and the Educational Research Club, a lifetime member of the YWCA, and the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club, member of the First Unitarian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs Rosemary (John) Burns, Oak Ridge, TN; and Mrs Barbara (Robert W) Allen, Ardmore, OK; and a brother, Donald Harris, Amherst, NE; 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Solon Smith Memorial Fund, First Unitarian Church, Oklahoma City.
