FAIRFIELD — Former area resident Twylah D. Snider, 86, died Friday, July 12, at San Bernadino, Calif.
She was born Jan. 21, 1899 in Stockport, to Joseph and Ingaba Morris Downard. She married Jay C. Snider April 13, 1918 at Davenport; he died Nov. 23,1964.
She was an operator for United Telephone Co. of Fairfield for 42 years, was a member of AARP and American Legion Auxiliary.
Surviving: One son, Carl, Elmhurst, Ill., two daughters, Diane Snider, Los Angeles, and Daphne Cupp, Manassas, Va.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchidren; one sister, Joanne Helsabeck, Los Angeles.
Graveside committal will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Spencer Cemetery near Stockport. A memorial has been established for the Heart Fund. Behner Funeral Home, Fairfield, is in charge.
