Rev. Anthony B. M. Bianco, CRSP, Barnabite, 83, of Bethlehem, PA, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2012 in Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital, Muhlenberg, PA. Born in Voghera, Lombardy, Italy, he was the son of the late Secondo and Domenica Persico Bianco.

Father Bianco attended the Barnabite Seminary in Cremona, Italy and studied theology in Tournay, Belgium and Rome, Italy. He later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1958 and a Master of Arts degree in 1960, both from Canisius College, Buffalo, NY and continued with doctoral studies at Notre Dame University, Ind. Father Bianco was ordained on March 24, 1951 at the Barnabite Church, St. Anthony Mary Zaccaria in Rome, by Archbishop Alfonso Carinci, and celebrated his first Mass in the same church on March, 25, 1951. He served at Fatima Shrine in Lewiston, NY; as hospital chaplain in Buffalo, NY; at Holy Family Chapel, Tuscarora Indian Reservation, Sanborn, NY; as a teacher at Bishop Gibbons High School in North Tonawanda and Bethlehem (PA) Catholic High School; Pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Guelph, Ontario, a mission assignment in Manila, Philippines and a variety of ministries in the Allentown Diocese, until his retirement in 2005. Fr. Bianco was the Superior of various Barnabite Communities and served as Provincial Superior.

Father Bianco is survived by his sisters, Romano Bianco Dalcortivo, Rosanno Bianco, both of Italy, Sister Teresa Bianco, ASP of Easton; a brother Beppe (Piera Coda) Bianco of Italy; nieces Renata Dalcortivo and Luisa Dalcortivo (Onofrio) Mandarano; nephew Enzo (Valeria), all of Italy; grandnieces Federica and Alessandra, and grandnephew Andrea, all of Italy. He is preceded in death by his siblings Teresina, Giuseppe, Mario; brother-in-law Agostino Dalcortivo; and a nephew Paolo.

A Commendation Service for Fr. Anthony Blaise M. Bianco, CRSP will be Saturday, January 14th at 10 a.m. at the Basilica of Our Lady of Fatima Shrine, 1023 Swann Rd, Lewiston, NY. Interment to immediately follow at the Barnabite Cemetery at Fatima Shrine.
