He and Hepzibah lived there until about 1797, when he and his son Delavan DeLance Jr and wife Anna [Blish], and daughter Hepzibah [DeLance]Parkhurst and husband Daniel Parkhurst and their families moved to Crown Point, Essex Co. New York. According to DAR application of Elizabeth Maria De Lance Weatherhead, a great-granddaughter, the gravestone of Delevan Delelance read "In memory of Delevan Delelance, a native of Massachusetts who departed this life November 25, 1811. Age 64 years 3 months. According to another DAR Application, he was buried in Briar Hill Cemetery (also called Essex Cemetery) in Essex County, New York.
