She was born November 7, 1932, in Jackson, to Carroll and Gladys (Southfield) Wade, and graduated from Litchfield High School in 1950.
She married Russell Smith June 10, 1951, and he survives.
She had been employed at Game Time, Litchfield Dairy, Consumers Power Co. and the University of Michigan accounting department.
Mrs. Smith was a great homemaker and especially enjoyed writing long letters to keep her family updated and in touch with each other.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Stacy (Cete) Marino of Princeton, Florida; three sons, Jeff Smith of Walled Lake, Steve (Patti) Smith of Northville and Eric (Vania) Smith of Louisville, Kentucky; two brothers, Terry (Darlene) Wade of Litchfield and Thomas (Marilyn) Wade of Longwood, Florida; and five grandchildren.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents; a son, David Smith; and a brother, Richard Wade.
