Atwood – Darrell G. (Tiny) Atwood of Cottage Grove died at his home Wednesday, October 14, 1970 at the age of 43. He was born in Nebraska May 13, 1927 and was married in Reno July 4, 1952 to Mary Jones who survives him. A veteran of the Navy in World War II he came to Cottage Grove in 1946. Besides his wife, he is survived by a son Darrell Jr.; 2 daughters: Lottie Fitch and Marilyn Atwood, all of Cottage Grove; 1 grandson; 3 brothers and 3 sisters: Le Roy and Ben, both of Cottage Grove, Jack, Mrs. Phyllis Freeman and Mrs. Jennie Lee Krader, all of California, Mrs. Evelyn Bolton of North Bend, Funeral services will be held at Mills Mortuary in Cottage Grove Monday, October 19 at 10:30 a.m. with vault interment in the Brumbaugh Cemetery. Those wishing to visit Mr. Atwood may do so prior to 10 a.m. Monday.
