James C Wilson was the oldest son of James Harvey Wilson (1798-1857) and Jane Caldwell Wilson (~1807-1844). On 1 Oct 1878 in Crawford County, James married Martha A Bratton (1832-1918). According to the 1900 US Census they were parents to 9 children but only these have been identified: Florence, Emma, Harry(or Harvey), Oscar, Mary E., John M., and Maggie T.

James and Martha Wilson are buried near two daughters, Maggie and Mary E. (Wilson) Hoel.
