Mrs. Butler was born in Lacona and lived in Des Moines most of her life.
She retired after 27 years at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company and was a member of Des Moines Senior Citizens Center, The American Association of Retired Persons and the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Surviving are a son, Gail "Gus" Welch Jr., and a daughter, Dolores Gertsen, both of Des Moines; a brother, Kenneth Auxier of Rochelle, Illinois; two sisters, Wilda Baughman of Indianola and Donna Phillips of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren and eight great a grandchildren.
