Elmo Farrar, 90, died Feb. 3, 2007 at the Dogwood Plantation in Fulton. He was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Itawamba County to the late Trannie B. and Sarah Booker Farrar. He was a 1936 graduate of Itawamba Agricultural High School. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, Sunday school superintendent and teacher for many years. He was a 32nd degree Mason for more than 65 years. He was a farmer and a former employee of Dura Crates, Blue Bell and Fulton Junior High School. He was an avid sports fan and followed the Atlanta Braves and Mississippi State University. He also enjoyed Fulton T.V. station Channel 38.

Services were Feb. 5 at Senter Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with burial in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include one son, Dan Farrar of Fulton; one grandson, Brent Farrar (Jenny) of Tupelo; one great-grandson, Gatlin Farrar; one brother, Joe Farrar of Fulton; a special friend, Ruby Bishop of Fulton.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeffie Wood Farrar, in 1986; and two brothers, Sam Farrar and Doc Farrar.

Pallbearers were Bobby Wood, James Bowen, Jerry Bowen, Don Miles, Todd Farrar and Hansford Farrar.
