Inscription

"In memory of
Phineas Gorham
d. Feb. 2 1843 aged 84
As a soldier of the Revolution he
nobly served his country & lived to see
& for a time to enjoy, what he so
much desired & what he struggled
hard to gain the independence of our nation."
