Mr. Charles William Day, 75, 5020 Doubs Road, Adamstown, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, at his residence. He was the husband of Mary Louise Brown Day, who died in November 1981.
Born May 16, 1918, in Mount Jackson, Va., he was a son of the late Edward and Mary Elizabeth Proffitt Day.
Mr. Day was retired from the parks division of the Montgomery County government. He was an avid bingo player.
Surviving are one son, Charles Edward Day and his wife Barbara of Mount Airy; four grandchildren, Ashleigh D. Day, Brandi N. Day, Brenda Lee McVey and Barbara Ann Day; two step-grandchildren, Ronnie B. Sexton and Khrysti L. Thompson; and seven great-grandchildren. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Friends may call at the Keeney and Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will begin at noon Saturday, Jan. 29, in Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Rampp, pastor, St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Doubs, will officiate. Interment will be in Monocacy Cemetery, Beallsville.
