AN ESTIMABLE LADY AND AGED
RESIDENT JOINS THE
SILENT MAJORITY

Mrs. Maria L. Dallam, aged 73, died Saturday evening at 6 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. W. W. Powell, 109 West Broadway. She had been In poor health for quite awhile but death was due directly to grippe.

The deceased was a daughter of the late Hon. Iaasic Shelby, and resided originally at Danville, Ky. She was widow of the late Jas L. Dallam of the old Commercial bank, who died In 1882, and was a most estimable Christian lady, a member of Grace Episcopal church, and an earnest church worker.

She leaves four children: Mrs. W.W. Powell, and Mr. Lawrence Dallam, of Padacah, Mr. Ike Dallam, of Palestine Texas, and Mr. Frank b. Dallam, of Philadelphia.

The funeral took place at 3 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. B. E. Reed officiating, burial at Oak Grove. The pall bearers were: Messrs. E. P. Noble, T. J. Flournoy, H. W. Rankin, M. B. Nash, L. W. and T. E. Boswell.
