Wilbur and Emily were prominent in the Milford, IA community where he owned and operated a general store. According to the book "Men Of Iowa", Wilbur was also President of the Des Moines Automobile Company in Des Moines, IA. (His portrait is from that book, page 270.) They also lived with their daughter Nellie and her family in Aberdeen for a time but had returned to Iowa for several years in the 1920s. By 1930 they had moved to Minneapolis and again lived with daughter Nellie for about 8 years prior to his death in 1932. Wilbur's body was cremated and laid to rest at Lakewood Cemetery 4 May 1932. (His name was spelled "Wilber F." on his death certificate and has been transcribed in the Lakewood records this way as well. Look for him in the MN Death Index with this spelling.)
