Elizabeth Fahs was the eldest of six known children of Thomas Fahs (1810-1850) and Rachel (maiden name Stees?, Dickey?) (c1814-1856), who married c1832 at presumably Pennsylvania. It is not known where Thomas is buried, some source say in Hanover, York County, Pennsylvania though he died at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania where his family had moved to.

Elizabeth married Henry A. Rose Sr. (went by Harry) (1832-1900) on 18 Nov 1852 at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Elizabeth and Harry were the parents of eight known children, namely:

1. Henry A. Rose (1853-1930)
2. William Rose (1855-1866)
3. Rachel Jane Rose Irvin (1857-1930)
4. Lilly Rose (1860-1860)
5. Rebecca Rose (1861-young?)
6. Emma Rose Wingeard (1865-1941)
7. Delila V. Rose Decker (1868-1947)
8. John Albert Rose (1871-1948)
9. Susan "Sue" Olive Rose Jones (1874-1950)

In 1880 Elizabeth (listed as married, where was Harry?), Emma, Lilla, John and Susan were living at Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. Harry was a Private with Company I, 201st Regiment of Pennsylvania Volunteers during the Civil War. After his death two wives filed for his pension, and it was discovered he was a bigamist. He enlisted in August 1864, and was a guard at City Point, Virginia. He went AWOL in January 1865 and was discharged in May 1865.
