Most likely born in Graver's Lane, Chestnut Hill, Philadelphia, son of Simon Sweitzer ca. 1737-1798, and Anna Barbara Shunk 1739-1814. He had one sibling, Deborah who died Sept. 13, 1798, the same day as her father, of Yellow Fever. Henry was a Philadelphia printer at 85 Race St. between 2nd & 3rd before marrying Mary Kugler April 14, 1799, at St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Germantown. Later he had his print shop on the Southwest corner of 4th & Race in Philadelphia. Henry was a victim of the times going bankrupt in 1804, and dying of ulcers in early 1807. He was the father of two children, Simon 1800-1883, and Catharine ca 1801-1857. Henry's Phila. archives death certificate listing indicated he was buried at St. Mary's Catholic Churchyard.
