Julia M. Stoecklein, 87, died Jan. 24, 2012 at the Buhler Sunshine Home. She was born Jan. 14, 1925 in Bazine, KS the daughter of Joseph and Katie Dechant Rupp. She had been a Hutchinson resident since 1960 moving from Minneola, KS.
She retired in 1990 from the R.L. Polk Co. after 25 years of service. She was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and the Charismatic Prayer Group.
On Feb. 19, 1945 she married Clarence J. Stoecklein in Bazine, he died July 14, 1985. Survivors include her children; Darold Stoecklein and Jolene Ashcraft, both of Hutchinson, brothers; Paul Rupp, Lakin, KS, Adam Rupp, Dodge City, sisters; Rita Riebel, Minneola, KS, Elvira Billinger, Scott City, KS, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Leslie Stoecklein, three sisters and three brothers.
Funeral service will be 4:00 PM Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home with a Parish Rosary at 5:00 PM, also at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 PM Sat. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Ness City with burial to follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Ness City. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM Thursday and 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM Friday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or St. Teresa's Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
