Was just 6 months old when he died during the Spanish ("Swine") Flu pandemic of 1918-1919.
Because of strict Health Department mandates, he was buried without a viewing or funeral in Oakland Cemetery, bordered by Allequippa, Morgan and Berthoud Streets in the Oakland Section of Pittsburgh.
In 1962, Oakland Cemetery was purchased by the University of Pittsburgh; closed; and all remains were re-interred at Mt. Royal Cemetery, Glenshaw, PA.
Note: His death certificate erroneously lists his birth date as 26 June 1918. His actual birth date was 26 April 1918.
