James H McCarty.
BUCHANAN - James Hobart McCarty, 65 died at 11:30 p.m., Monday at his home on 808 Main St., after being stricken with a heart attack.
Mr. McCarty was born March 17 1897 in Ozark County, Mo., and had been employed at the paint booth in the foundry at Clark Equipment Co. A of World War 1, he was married on Jan. 30, 1930 in Ozark County to Gladys Welch. They came to Buchanan in 1930. He was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church in Niles, of witch his son is pastor..
Surviving are the widow; three sons, the Rev. Marvin Arnold, Niles, Paul Arnold, Gretna, La., and James E. McCarty, Buchanan; a daughter, Mrs. Claradene Hall, Lennox, Calif.; a brother, Lois McCarty, in California; two sisters, Mrs. Ethel Tate, Compton, Calif.; and Mrs. Arlena Caldwell, Bell, Calif., and 19 grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Evadene Ruff, Bertrand Township, died on Jan. 7, 1963..
