DEATH:
Terissee died of cancer at age 38 in 1919. She was sick for over a year, and at the end of her life she was on heavy doses of morphine. Before she died, she talked to each of her children telling them goodbye and to be good to their father. Her daughter, Delsie Clifton, was 7 years old when Terissee died. By Tee's prior arrangement, her husband's parents, John Frank and Nancy Smith Clifton, took the two youngest of Terissa & Sam's children (Fred & Oscar) into their home to care for them.

In 1997, daughter, Delsie Clifton Allen Anderson said, "The happiest time of my life was the birth of my first child, and the saddest time was the passing of my mother Terissee."
