James Dickinson, born 30 June 1678, married on 16 July 1701 to Mary, daughter of Thomas Wood. James and Mary Wood Dickinson had two children born in Rowley, MA. The children are: a daughter, Mary, and a son, James, who was born 31 December 1705. This James, the father (of daughter Mary and son James) is listed as having died 5 January 1705-06. According to the record, the widow Mary, married Daniel Pearson. The marriage of widow Mary (Wood) Dicason and Daniel Pearson is recorded in the Rowley Vital Records, as having taken place in Newbury on 9 December 1708.

This is the only one of two early stones in this burial ground that wasn't carved by Lt. John Hartshorne. It appears to have been carved by the Lamson shop. Joseph Lamson was Hartshorne's half-brother and one of the finest carvers in 17th century Mass.
