LOCAL WOMEN ARE HURT IN ACCIDENT
SERIOUSLY INJURED IN HEAD-IN SMASH

Two Plymouth County women, one from LeMars, and the other from Brunsville, were seriously injured in an automobile accident on Highway 75 south of Sioux City Wednesday afternoon.
There were: Mrs. Cleo Van Voorst, LeMars, 37, who is in a Sioux City hospital with a fractured skull, abrasions, and said to be in critical condition, and Mrs. Gladys Beach, 32, Brunsville, who is hospitalized with head and face injuries and possible internal injuries.
They were riding, according to Sioux City Police, with Joseph Kolaski of Sioux City who was driving the car at the time of the accident. Their car collided head on with an automobile driven by L.I. Dessens of Des Moines near the Floyd Monument.
Police reported that one other man is said to have been in the Kolaski car but disappeared after the accident.

MRS. VAN VOORST PASSES AWAY SATURDAY

Mrs. Cleo Van Voorst of LeMars died Saturday, November 15 in a Sioux City hospital where she had been taken following an accident on Highway 75 south of Sioux City the preceding Wednesday. She suffered a fractured skull and other injuries and did not regain consciousness.
Cleo Roberts was born October 1, 1909 in LeMars, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Roberts. On February 4, 1928 she was married to Richard Van Voorst who survives with the following children born to their union: Mrs. Everett Sams, Merrill; Alex Richard and Alfred LeRoy Van Voorst of LeMars. She is also survived by one granddaughter, two brothers, Roy of Klamath Falls, Oregon and Robert of Canton, South Dakota and four sisters.
