Funeral Mrs. D. Vander Kooi Held

Mrs. Dirk Vander Kooi, nee Grietje Stienstra, passed away Sunday morning at 7 o'clock at her home. She had been ill from infirmities of advanced age and after telling her daughter, Mrs. Rena Roberts, who made her home with her mother, that she wanted to go to sleep and for Mrs. Roberts to take some rest, she was found shortley afterward by her daughter, dead.

Deceased was born March 29, 1864 at Menaldum, Friesland, Netherlands and on April 18, 1898 was united in Marriage to Dirk Vander Kooi. Six children were born to them. In 1898 the family came to America and lived for many years on a farm north of town, later moving to town.

Her husband and one child preceeded her in death. The surviving children ara Anna, Mrs. D Tiemersma; Gertrude, Mrs. R. Pekel; Nick; Rena, Mrs. Roberts, and Peter at Hinton. One brother who resides in the Netherlands also survives. There are nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at one o'clock at the home and at 1:30 at the First Reformed church, with Rev. H. Colenbrander in charge. Intement was made at Middleburg.
