MERCEDES - Antonio De La Fuente, 87, passed away Jan. 28, 2012. He is survived by his wife Victoria De La Fuente of Mercedes; a son Carlos De La Fuente of Mercedes; five daughters Mari De La Fuente of McAllen, Mary Trevino of Weslaco, Rosario De La Fuente of Newton Grove, North Carolina, Mari (Kandie) De La Fuente, Victoria De La Fuente both of Mercedes; two sisters Emma Nunn of Tyler, TX, Gloria De La Fuente of Rio Bravo, Tamps. Mexico; also surviving are 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wed at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mercedes, interment will follow at Ebony Grove Cemetery also in Mercedes.
