Dottie was born Nov. 24, 1924, in Roby. She married Lewis Harold "Sarge" Venable. After living in several locations due to Sarge's Air Force career, they made their home in Fort Worth in 1968. Dottie was an active, longtime member of Worth Baptist Church, where she served faithfully for over 30 years. She loved bowling, fishing, playing dominoes and spending time with her family. While perception of Dottie may have been that she was a quiet, passive person, she was a very strong woman and the backbone of her family. Dottie was the matriarch of the Venable family and will be terribly missed. Her loving kindness and generosity are her legacies and will forever live on in our lives. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Sarge, and 12 of her 16 siblings.
