Connie (Buss) (Smith) Clingen, a long-time Covina resident, passed away after long illness on January 29, 2012.
Connie Buss was born in San Jose, IL in September, 1932.
In January, 1952, Connie married Robert Bruce Smith. They raised their family first in central Illinois, until moving to Covina in 1970. Bruce passed in 1977. Connie married Scott Clingen in 1983; they celebrated their silver anniversary in 2008. Connie was active as a volunteer with BreathSavers, Candlelighters and with several Senior Citizens groups, especially with the West Covina Senior Center.
Connie is survived by her husband, Scott Clingen; her daughter, Sue Ellen Smith; her son, Michael Stephen Smith; her sister, Ellen Dean Winkel; her step-sons, Mike Clingen and Jeff Clingen; her stepdaughter, Terri Odom; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at the Oakdale Memorial Chapel, Glendora on Monday, February 6; funeral at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 7, also at Oakdale Memorial Chapel with a memorial reception at First Presbyterian Church of Covina following.
