OLDHAM – The funeral service for John H. Groce, 84, who died Sunday at a Madison hospital, was to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Baptist church with the Rev. Paul Kroehnert officiating. Burial was to be in the Ramona Cemetery.
Born Aug. 14, 1889, in Lake County to Mr. and Mrs. John Groce, Mr. Groce lived all of his life at Oldham. He was a blacksmith for many years.
Survivors include his widow, Maude, Oldham; four daughters, Mrs. Ora (Iva) Hayes, Mrs. George (Fern) Young, both of Portland, Ore., Doris Groce, Oldham and Mrs. Kenneth (Gennie) DeKnikker, Oldham; six sons, Irwin, Torrance, Calif., Loren and Lavin, Oldham, Darrel, Franklin Square, N.Y., Ernest, Pomona, Calif., and Douglas, Madison; 24 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements were announced by Johnson-Henry Funeral Home, Lake Preston.
