Hilda "Sweetie Pie" Davenport of Eugene, died Feb. 28 of age-related causes. She was 94. Davenport was born March 30, 1909, in Hall Creek, near Myrtle Point, to Henry and Marie Aasen Fredenburg. She married Rodney Davenport in Myrtle Point on June 1, 1927. He died in 1979. She lived in Myrtle Point until nine years ago, when she moved to Eugene. She was a dairy farmer's wife and worked in a mill for eight years in the 1940s. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church and she enjoyed playing bridge, working crossword puzzles and writing poetry. She also enjoyed quilting and made 24 quilts for her descendants. Survivors include a daughter, Amy Holland of Walterville; a son, Bill of Portland; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Son, Donald, died previously. Arrangements by Amling/Schroeder Funeral Home in Myrtle Point. Burial at Myrtle Crest Memorial Gardens in Coquille, OR.
